The Dubai skyline is one of the most amazing and breathtaking views you may ever lay your eyes upon. A new landmark has recently been added to this already stunning view; the prestigious Mashreq Bank Headquarters in Burj Khalifa District. FG Wilson FZE, our dealer in Dubai, had the privilege of installing FG Wilson power into this remarkable building.
With a panoramic view of the Sheikh Zayed Road, the building is 165m tall and covers a total area of 71,000m2. It consists of four levels of basement (carparks, MEP & plant equipment), eight levels of podium; including parking facilities, cafeterias, conference centers, a 350 seats auditorium, banqueting hall, and other facilities; such as a roof top terrace, dining, executive offices, meeting rooms, lounge area, board room, informal meeting spaces, landscaped garden. There are 15 floors of core office space and eight floors of premium office space, covering an office floor area of 39,700m2. A unique feature of the building is a four-storey crown structure, that forms the top four floors of the building and extends up to 27m beyond the main building’s footprint. The L shaped typical floor plate opens to the north with its orientation allowing offices on both sides. The glass facades enable daylight harvesting, while the horizontal and vertical shading systems minimise the glare. Combined with the L-shape of the building, it allows occupants to have a spectacular view over the city.
Our dealer in Dubai, FG Wilson FZE, is delighted to have contributed to such a prestigious but complex project. Their team installed three FG Wilson P1500P3 generator sets, with a high ambient package and synchronization system, to guarantee a safe and secure source of standby power to the entire building. The generator sets will ensure undisrupted continuity in Mashreq Bank HQ’s business experience, powering essential, emergency, fire and life safety load and data centre. Significant challenges to this project were meeting the significant performance requirements and high ambient temperature conditions in a compact plant room space.
A witness test took place at the FG Wilson facilities in Larne, Northern Ireland, so that all stakeholders, including the final client, could observe the high level of performance delivered by FG Wilson products. The highly skilled and experienced team at FG Wilson FZE worked with various suppliers; including acoustics, ventilation, fuel systems, fire detection/fighting and switchgear systems, to ensure performance expectations and installation timelines were met. The final power solution was fully load tested at site after installation, prior to be handed over to the end client.
To give total peace of mind to their client, FG Wilson FZE has also offered a one year maintenance contract for the generator sets.
